The purpose of this activity is to improve global food- and water-security through the empowerment of individuals from backgrounds underrepresented in the agriculture, natural resources and related science fields..Activities: .This activity supports the professional development of underrepresented minorities and increases awareness of career and partnership opportunities within the climate, agriculture, food security and water sectors..Activities include:.In-person and virtual engagements facilitated between development practitioners, academic and professional organizations, and students from underrepresented minority backgrounds, including intersectional identities such as LGBTQI+ and persons with disabilities, that include technical presentations and professional development trainings.Trainings and resource materials, including on gender and social inclusion in food and water security programming, disseminated in various fora targeted at underrepresented minorities.Global and food security programming, events and opportunities promoted through digital and print materials targeted at minorities underrepresented in agriculture, natural resources, and related sciences, including integration of gender into that programming .A Global Empowerment Fellows Leadership Program implemented to prepare undergraduate and graduate students for international development fieldwork and global citizenship through training and experiential learning..Benefitting Countries: Global.
